How we collect, use and protect your information
Revised: 4 October 2026
LessonInc (the “Platform”, “we”, “us”) provides tutor discovery, tuition services, school recruitment and related account features at lessoninc.online. This notice describes how personal information is used when you access or use LessonInc. It should be read with our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
We use information to provide accounts, confirm identity and institutional eligibility, match tutors with students and vacancies, manage payments and membership access, send requested service notifications, handle complaints, protect users against abuse, maintain records and improve the Platform. Promotional messages are subject to applicable choices and permissions. Where required, we will provide an appropriate notice and obtain consent or another lawful basis before processing.
A tutor’s job-seeking profile is shown to schools only when the tutor has opted into recruitment and the relevant profile is active. A school with confirmed paid membership may search eligible tutors; identifying contact details and available CVs are disclosed only through applicable access controls and tutor sharing choices. A school’s access limit counts distinct tutor profiles unlocked within the relevant membership cycle; a limit of 0 means unlimited. Payment does not grant a school unrestricted rights over tutor information or salary documents. Optional salary slips are restricted to authorised verification staff unless a tutor separately and expressly chooses to share them for a specific purpose.
Admin may recommend a tutor to a school based on recorded recruitment information or prior interviews, subject to the tutor’s permission to share the relevant details. Schools must use obtained contact information solely for genuine recruitment, protect it from unauthorised disclosure and not sell, scrape or bulk-export profiles.
We do not offer personal data for sale. External websites, payment gateways and communication providers may have their own privacy notices.
Some optional LessonInc features use Google Gemini to help users draft tutor-profile text, interpret tutor-search requests, explain or summarize study content, suggest support-triage steps, assist administrators with moderation review, draft SEO copy, and summarize recruitment/profile information. When you actively use one of these features, the text you submit to that AI feature may be sent to Google for processing. LessonInc does not automatically send passwords, OTPs, payment credentials, government-ID numbers or private verification documents to Gemini, and users should not paste such information into AI prompts.
AI output is generated assistance and may be inaccurate. It does not automatically approve or reject tutors, verify identity or qualifications, change payments or access permissions, impose disciplinary action, or make hiring decisions. Human users and LessonInc Admin remain responsible for reviewing relevant outputs before acting on them.
Vacancy-match emails and in-platform notifications depend on the tutor’s active job-seeking status and matching criteria. Browser/PWA push works only if supported and permitted on the device; it cannot be guaranteed to reach every phone. Optional marketing messages can be opted out of where applicable. SMS or WhatsApp is used only if enabled and appropriate permissions and service integrations are available.
We keep records while reasonably required for accounts, memberships, recruitment, financial accounting, disputes, security and legal obligations. Closing an account or allowing school membership to expire stops ordinary access but may not immediately erase lawful transaction, audit or dispute records or data already downloaded by an authorised recipient. Verification documents and uploaded files are retained only for a documented, necessary period; do not assume immediate deletion after checking an ID. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected misuse promptly.
Student services may involve minors. Parent/guardian involvement, account eligibility, notices and verifiable consent must follow the legal requirements applicable when the relevant feature is offered. Recruitment profiles and school-job applications are intended for adult tutors. A parent account is not a substitute for legally required consent or safeguards.
Subject to applicable law and identity verification, you may request access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal or assistance with a privacy complaint. Tutors may pause their recruitment visibility and update permitted sharing choices. Withdrawal or deletion may limit access to features and does not necessarily reverse prior lawful disclosures or erase records we must retain. We will not retaliate against good-faith privacy requests.
LessonInc allows eligible tutors to connect their Google account so that LessonInc can create Google Meet meeting spaces for classes and demo sessions initiated through the Platform. Connecting Google Meet is optional and requires the tutor to grant permission through Google’s OAuth consent screen.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/meetings.space.created. This permission is used only to create Google Meet spaces on behalf of the connected tutor when the tutor creates an online class or demo through LessonInc.LessonInc does not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Calendar events, Google Contacts, or the contents of a tutor’s Google account through this Google Meet connection.
Google account identity data is used to verify the connected account and maintain a secure account binding. The Google Meet permission is used to obtain the credentials required to create a Meet space and return the resulting meeting link to the relevant LessonInc class or demo workflow. Google user data obtained through these scopes is not used for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, data brokerage, or unrelated purposes.
LessonInc stores the Google account’s unique identity reference, the authorised Meet scope, and an OAuth refresh token where required to create future Meet spaces without asking the tutor to reconnect for every class. Refresh tokens are encrypted at rest using application-level encryption and are not exposed in tutor profiles, student interfaces, public pages or meeting links. Access is restricted to server-side processes required to provide the Google Meet feature.
LessonInc does not sell Google user data and does not transfer Google user data to advertising platforms, data brokers or information resellers. Google OAuth credentials are not shared with students, other tutors, schools or other ordinary Platform users. A generated Google Meet link may be shared with the relevant class or demo participants as necessary to provide the service requested by the tutor.
Google OAuth connection data is retained while the tutor keeps the Google Meet integration connected and for only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the feature, maintain security and satisfy applicable legal obligations. A tutor may revoke LessonInc’s Google access from the permissions/security controls of their Google Account. Revoking access will prevent LessonInc from creating new Meet spaces until the tutor reconnects. Tutors may also request deletion of their LessonInc account or related personal data using the privacy controls described in this Policy or by contacting support@lessoninc.online.
LessonInc’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request only the Google permissions needed for the Google Meet feature described above.
We use technologies required for authentication, security and service operation, and may use additional analytics or optional technologies only as actually configured and permitted. This notice will be updated when practices change; material changes will be communicated where required. An updated notice does not retroactively authorise new processing that requires separate consent.
For privacy requests and complaints email support@lessoninc.online, with “Privacy Request” in the subject.
