These guidelines ensure LessonInc remains a trusted platform for students and parents. All tutors must follow these standards to maintain their account and reputation.
✅ Profile Standards
- Use your real name as it appears on your government ID
- Upload a professional, clear headshot photo — no group photos, cartoons or blurry images
- Write an honest, accurate bio — do not exaggerate credentials or experience
- Upload genuine qualification certificates — forgery leads to permanent ban
- Set realistic pricing — price gouging or misleading rates will be flagged
💬 Communication Standards
- Respond to student chat messages within 24 hours
- Maintain professional and respectful language at all times
- Do not ask for or share personal contact details (WhatsApp, phone, email) with students outside the platform
- Never attempt to move payment off the platform — this results in immediate suspension
📅 Session Standards
Attend all confirmed sessions. Missing a confirmed session without 12 hours' notice is considered a default and may result in a strike.
Be on time. Join online sessions at least 2 minutes before the scheduled time. For offline sessions, arrive at the student's location on time.
Come prepared. Prepare a proper lesson plan for each session. Students and parents expect quality teaching, not improvisation.
- Do not cancel sessions habitually. More than 3 cancellations in a month may trigger a review.
- If you cannot continue an assignment, give at least 7 days' notice to allow the student to find a replacement
⚠️ Prohibited Conduct
Strictly Prohibited: Accepting cash or direct online payments from students bypassing LessonInc. First offence = suspension. Second offence = permanent ban.
Strictly Prohibited: Sharing explicit, inappropriate, or irrelevant content in any session or chat. Zero tolerance — immediate permanent ban.
- Do not submit plagiarised questions to the question bank — all submissions are checked
- Do not create fake reviews or ask students/friends to post fake reviews for you
- Do not contact students or parents outside the platform for any purpose
- Do not discriminate against students based on class, board, religion, gender or location
⚡ Strike System
- Strike 1: Formal warning, noted on account
- Strike 2: 7-day suspension from receiving new leads
- Strike 3: 30-day suspension
- Strike 4: Permanent account suspension
Strikes can be appealed within 72 hours from your dashboard. Upheld appeals remove the strike from your record.
🏆 Earning Your Verified Badge
- Complete all 8 onboarding sections
- Have all qualification documents verified by admin
- Achieve a profile completeness score of 90 or above
- Maintain a clean record (no active strikes)
The Verified Expert badge gives you priority in search results and earns 200 bonus M-Coins.
